Social Worker | Assessment & Intervention / Court Team | Torbay Council | Up to £45ph + Accommodation Allowance
Torbay Council is currently recruiting experienced Children's Social Workers to join its Assessment & Intervention Team and Court Team. These are long-term agency opportunities within a local authority that has recently achieved a GOOD Ofsted rating, offering supportive management, regular supervision and genuine opportunities for progression into permanent positions.

Assessment & Intervention Social Worker
  • Up to £42 per hour

  • Up to £45 per hour

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working available
  • Office attendance expected up to 3 days per week
  • During duty weeks, full office attendance is required
  • Duty rota operates on a 1 week in every 3 weeks basis
  • Social Workers must remain available to respond to crisis situations and Section 47 enquiries when working remotely
  • Candidates must be able to travel throughout Torbay and occasionally out of county for visits to children placed outside the area

Caseloads

Social Workers can expect caseloads of approximately 20-24 cases, including a mixture of:
  • Child in Need (CIN)
  • Child Protection (CP)
  • Assessments
  • Complex safeguarding work
  • Court proceedings (Court Team)
