Personal Advisor - Leaving Care Team
Location: Croydon
Rate: £29.72ph Umbrella (Pre) | £31.15ph Umbrella (Post)
Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for dedicated and passionate Personal Advisors to support young people transitioning from care into independent adulthood within Croydon's Leaving Care Service.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of care-experienced young people, helping them build confidence, develop life skills and access the support they need to thrive.
The Role
As a Personal Advisor, you will work closely with young people leaving care, providing practical guidance, emotional support and advocacy throughout their journey to independence.
You will be responsible for developing positive relationships, assessing individual needs and ensuring young people have access to appropriate services and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing assessments and developing Pathway Plans tailored to individual needs
- Supporting young people with housing, education, training and employment opportunities
- Providing advice and guidance around independent living skills
- Meeting regularly with care leavers to review progress and identify further support needs
- Acting as an advocate to help young people access services and overcome barriers
- Working in partnership with professionals, agencies and support networks
- Promoting positive outcomes and helping young people achieve their goals
- Continuing to provide support to care leavers up to the age of 25 where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working with young people, care leavers or vulnerable adolescents
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by young people transitioning to independence
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience of assessment, planning and support work
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and statutory responsibilities
- The ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload
- A passion for empowering young people to achieve positive outcomes
