We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker to join our Adoption Team in Luton. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and families through the adoption process, ensuring the best outcomes for all involved.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting assessments and home visits to evaluate potential adoptive families
  • Providing support and guidance to birth parents, adoptive parents, and children throughout the adoption process
  • Developing and implementing care plans to meet the individual needs of children awaiting adoption
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful adoptions
  • Participating in court proceedings and case conferences as required

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in children's social work, preferably within adoption services
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
