Wakefield Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Locality/Safeguarding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and promoting their welfare, working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families. Developing and implementing effective care plans in line with statutory requirements. Providing guidance and support to junior social workers and other team members. Representing the Locality/Safeguarding team at multi-agency meetings and court proceedings. Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with local policies and procedures.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and colleagues.
