Cheshire East is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Kinship Assessment Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that children in need are placed in safe, nurturing environments with family members or friends who can provide care. As part of our team, you will conduct thorough assessments, provide support to kinship carers, and work collaboratively with families to promote the best outcomes for children.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive kinship assessments in line with statutory guidance and best practice. Building trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals to gather relevant information. Developing and implementing support plans for kinship carers, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and guidance. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding plans. Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in compliance with local authority policies.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and family support work, particularly in kinship care. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
