Family Assessment Social Worker | Horncastle
Location: Horncastle, East Lindsey
Team: FAST (Family Assessment & Support Team)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (with on-site duty week every 3 weeks)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join a FAST team in Horncastle. This is a key frontline role, delivering high-quality statutory social work to children and families across:
  • Child in Need
  • Child Protection
  • Children in Care
You will play a critical role in safeguarding, assessment, and planning, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time to achieve safe and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Section 47 enquiries and lead safeguarding investigations
  • Complete comprehensive Child and Family Assessments
  • Apply evidence-based frameworks such as Signs of Safety to assess and manage risk
  • Lead and contribute to multi-agency planning and decision-making
  • Produce high-quality, analytical reports, including those for court
  • Maintain timely, accurate and defensible case recordings
  • Build strong, purposeful relationships with children and families through relationship-based practice
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making in complex and high-risk situations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience within statutory children's social work
  • Strong working knowledge of Child Protection, CIN, and CIC processes
  • Confidence managing complex caseloads and safeguarding concerns
  • Experience in court work and report writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively across agencies
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families

Working Arrangements

  • Duty week: Full on-site presence required (5 days), on a 1 in 3 week rota
  • Non-duty weeks: Flexible hybrid working available
