Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and develop appropriate support plans.
  • Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate services and interventions that promote the well-being and development of disabled children.
  • Providing direct support and guidance to families, helping them navigate challenges and access resources.
  • Monitoring and reviewing care plans to ensure they remain effective and responsive to changing needs.
  • Advocating for the rights and needs of disabled children within the community and local services.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, BA in Social Work, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Experience working with disabled children and their families, ideally within a local authority setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with children and families.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with a focus on safeguarding and promoting welfare.
