We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Specialist Assessment Worker to join our Newcastle team. This non-caseholding role is essential in providing high-quality assessments for individuals in need of social care services. You will work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including families, healthcare professionals, and community organizations, to ensure that individuals receive the necessary support tailored to their unique circumstances.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and circumstances. Developing and implementing appropriate action plans that address identified needs. Providing expert advice and guidance to social work teams and other professionals. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of assessments and outcomes. Collaborating with external agencies to facilitate access to additional services and resources.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in social work, particularly in assessment and planning. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse individuals and teams.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Social Worker (SSW) to join our Assessment Team in Newcastle. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with families, children, and various stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children in our community.

As a Children’s SSW in the Assessment Team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of children and their families in accordance with statutory guidelines. Your key responsibilities will include:

Carrying out initial assessments and developing comprehensive support plans. Engaging with families and children to gather information and understand their needs. Working closely with multi-agency partners to coordinate services and interventions. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in team meetings and case conferences to discuss ongoing cases and share insights.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW). Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Social Work England). Experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and intervention. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
