Wolverhampton City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Practitioner to join our Child Protection Team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of social workers to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. Your expertise will be crucial in providing guidance, managing complex cases, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supervising a team of social workers, providing mentorship and support. Managing a caseload of complex child protection cases, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Facilitating team meetings and case discussions to promote best practices and share knowledge. Engaging with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure a multi-agency approach to child welfare.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
