Join Tower Hamlets Council as a Senior Social Worker in our Initial Assessment team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. In this position, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing effective intervention strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable families.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting initial assessments of children and families referred to social services. Developing and implementing care plans in line with statutory guidelines. Working closely with partner agencies to coordinate support services. Providing guidance and supervision to junior social workers and students. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal requirements.To be successful in this role, you will need to possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., degree in social work, CQSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in child protection or social work. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
