Role OverviewSupport children and young people affected by domestic abuseProvide emotional and practical support in safe, structured environmentsHelp children recover from trauma and build resilienceDeliver one-to-one and group-based interventionsPromote emotional wellbeing, stability, and confidenceWork with families to support recovery and safeguardingKey ResponsibilitiesConduct risk and needs assessments for children and young peopleDevelop and implement individual support plansDeliver age-appropriate emotional support sessions and activitiesEnsure safeguarding procedures are followed at all timesMaintain accurate and timely case notes and recordsLiaise with social workers, schools, health services, and other agenciesSupport families in accessing housing, benefits, and community servicesAdvocate for children to ensure their voice is heardEssential RequirementsExperience working with children/young people in a support, safeguarding, youth work, or domestic abuse settingStrong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on childrenKnowledge of safeguarding and child protection proceduresAbility to manage caseloads and maintain accurate documentationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsEnhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain oneFull UK driving licence and access to a car (essential due to travel requirements)Ability to work full-time hours across DerbyshireWhat Caritas Futures OffersDedicated recruitment consultant supportFull onboarding and compliance assistanceOngoing placement support throughout assignmentAccess to wellbeing services (counselling, Headspace, wellbeing activities)Training and professional development opportunitiesOpportunity to make a meaningful impact in children's livesApplySend your CV for immediate considerationJoin a specialist service supporting children affected by domestic abuseHelp create safe, stable, and supportive environments where children can recover and thrive

Join our dedicated Adult Community Team as a Social Worker in Derbyshire, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of adults within our community. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated individual to support vulnerable adults, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need to live fulfilling lives. You will work collaboratively with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams to assess needs, develop care plans, and advocate for effective service delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals’ needs and risks. Developing, implementing, and reviewing person-centered care plans. Providing direct support and guidance to individuals and their families. Collaborating with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience in adult social work, particularly within community settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults.
