Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic Contact & Assessment Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead assessments and interventions for children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes. Your expertise will guide a team of social workers in delivering high-quality support and safeguarding practices, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to address the needs of vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying risks and needs. Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with service users and multi-agency partners. Providing supervision and support to junior staff, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with legislation and policy. Participating in court proceedings and providing evidence as required.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and assessment work. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex cases. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
