Join our dedicated Children's Social Work - Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Somerset, where your expertise and compassion can make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families. We are seeking a qualified Social Worker who is passionate about supporting children in care, ensuring their safety, stability, and well-being. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality social work services that promote positive outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals. Providing direct support and interventions to children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a recognized degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England. Demonstrable experience in children's social work, particularly with looked after children. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
