In this vital role, you will ensure that the voices of children and young people are heard, their rights are upheld, and their welfare is prioritized in all aspects of care planning and reviews.
As a Children's IRO, you will be responsible for a range of key duties, including:
Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Ensuring that the views and wishes of children are central to the review process. Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvement. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to promote the best outcomes for children. Providing support and guidance to children and families throughout the review process.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience working with children and families in a social work setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children.
