Are you a passionate and dedicated qualified social worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children in care? Walsall Council is seeking a skilled Children in Care Social Worker to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the safety, well-being, and positive development of children in the care system.

As a Children in Care Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans for children and young people. Building trusting relationships with children and their families to understand their needs and challenges. Working closely with schools, health services, and other agencies to coordinate support and services. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families, promoting a nurturing environment.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA, MA in Social Work) and current registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in child protection and working with children in care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle a diverse caseload. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with current legislation and best practices.
