Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of children's needs and family dynamics. Preparing detailed reports for court, outlining findings and recommendations. Providing expert advice and support to families throughout the court process. Collaborating with social services, schools, and other agencies to ensure holistic support for children. Participating in court hearings and presenting evidence as required.To thrive in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in child protection and family court work. Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear, concise reports. About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Family Court Adviser (FCA) to join CAFCASS on a locum basis, covering the Derby region. In this pivotal role, you will provide advanced social work services to children, families, and the courts by assessing and analysing applications for any child protection and serious welfare concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct high-quality assessments and provide analysis to the court on the needs and best interests of children involved in family proceedings.
Engage directly with children and families to gather their wishes and feelings, ensuring their voices are heard in the court process.
Collaborate with professionals from various agencies to inform assessments and recommendations.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports to the court, including Section 7 and Rule 16.4 reports.
Advocate for the child's welfare throughout the court proceedings, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's social work, with a strong background in safeguarding and court work.
Proven ability to work autonomously, manage caseloads effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written reports.
Familiarity with CAFCASS policies and procedures is desirable.
