Caritas Recruitment is currently supporting Torbay Children's Services in the recruitment of an experienced Social Worker for their Court Team.
This is an excellent long-term locum opportunity offering a competitive rate, accommodation support, and the chance to join a local authority recently rated GOOD by Ofsted.

You will manage a caseload of approximately 20-24 children and families, undertaking complex court proceedings and safeguarding work.

Child Protection PlansChild in Need PlansCare ProceedingsPublic Law Outline (PLO) processesThis is a fast-paced and supportive environment where high-quality practice is valued and professional development is encouraged.
Working Arrangements
Office attendance required up to three days per weekFull-time office presence required during duty weeksFlexible remote working available outside of duty commitmentsMust be available to respond to crisis situations and safeguarding concerns when requiredAbility to travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county is essentialEssential Requirements
In line with Department for Education agency regulations, applicants must:
Hold Social Work England registrationHave a minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience gained within an English Local Authority Children's Services teamNot have left a permanent Children's Services social work position within the last six months from a local authority in the South West regionBe able to attend the Torbay office each weekIf you're an experienced Children's Social Worker with court experience looking for your next locum contract, I'd love to hear from you.
