Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join West Sussex County Council's Children With Disabilities Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist service supporting children and young people with lifelong disabilities and complex needs, helping them achieve positive outcomes through strengths-based and relationship-focused social work.
About the RoleAs a Social Worker within the Children With Disabilities Team, you will provide a specialist service to disabled children, young people and their families. You will undertake assessments, planning and interventions, working with children in need, looked after children and children subject to child protection plans.
You will work in partnership with families and professionals across Children's Services, Adult Services, Education, Health and the Voluntary and Community Sector to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.
Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake assessments and care planning for children with disabilities and complex needsManage Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children casesComplete direct work with children and young peopleSupport children and families using strengths-based approachesWork collaboratively with Education, Health, Adult Services and partner agenciesEnsure children are safeguarded and achieve positive outcomesRequirementsSocial Work England registrationQualified Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualified experience within UK Local Authority Children's ServicesExperience working with children with disabilities and complex needsStrong assessment, analysis and care planning skillsKnowledge of safeguarding and child protection processesExcellent partnership and multi-agency working skillsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleWorking ArrangementsBased at County Hall, ChichesterCovering Chichester and Bognor Regis, with occasional travel to other areas of the countyFull-time positionOffice-based during duty weeksHybrid working available, with a preference for office attendanceMinimum of 2 office days per week, including duty day attendanceAdditional InformationUp to £42.00 per hourRates are subject to WSCC's Market of Constraints framework and assessed based on experience and competencyCandidates must have completed at least 3 years' direct permanent employment within Local Authority Children's Social Care in EnglandWest Sussex County Council will not engage agency workers within the same region within three months of leaving a substantive postTwo detailed DfE practice-based references requiredApply TodayLisa Hallinan
