We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Child Protection team in Wakefield. This role is essential in safeguarding the welfare of children and families, ensuring that all children are protected from harm and receive the support they need to thrive. As a Social Worker in Child Protection, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies to assess needs, develop care plans, and implement interventions that promote positive outcomes for children.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting assessments to identify the needs and risks faced by children and families. Developing and implementing tailored care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required. Engaging in continuous professional development and training to stay abreast of best practices in child protection.To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices, as well as experience working with vulnerable children and families.
