Up to £42 per Hour

Caritas Recruitment is currently supporting Torbay Children's Services in the recruitment of experienced Social Workers for their Assessment & Intervention Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a local authority recently rated GOOD by Ofsted, offering a long-term contract, competitive rates, accommodation support, and a supportive team environment.

The Package

The Role
Working within the Assessment & Intervention Team, you will hold a caseload of approximately 20-24 cases, managing a varied and rewarding workload including:

Child in Need (CIN)Child Protection (CP)AssessmentsComplex safeguarding work

The team operates a duty rota of one week in every three, providing a balanced and structured working environment.

Working Arrangements

Office attendance required up to three days per weekFull-time office presence required during duty weeksFlexible remote working outside of duty commitmentsSocial workers must remain available to respond to crisis situations and Section 47 enquiries when requiredAbility to travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county is essential

Essential Requirements
Under current Department for Education agency guidelines, applicants must:

Have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience gained within an English Local Authority Children's Services teamNot have left a permanent Children's Services social work role within the last six months from a local authority in the South West regionBe able to attend the office in Torbay each weekHold Social Work England registration
