Join our dedicated team in Barking & Dagenham as a Senior Social Worker within the Fostering Team, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in foster care, and supporting foster carers through effective training and guidance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and suitability for fostering. Developing and implementing tailored care plans that promote the welfare and development of children in foster placements. Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, including regular visits and training sessions. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with legislation and best practice guidelines.The ideal candidate will possess a recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You will have substantial experience in fostering or child protection, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children in care and the fostering system. Essential skills include excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable families.
