Are you a passionate and experienced social worker looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families? Birmingham City Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children, providing support and interventions that promote positive outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of child protection concerns and developing comprehensive care plans. Leading complex casework and managing a caseload of children and families at risk. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development. Collaborating with external agencies, including schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement, to ensure holistic support for children. Preparing and presenting reports for court proceedings and child protection conferences.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in child protection or related fields. Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team in Birmingham. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic team, where you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, and work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in our care.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
