Senior Practitioner - Family Safeguarding Team (West)

Join Hertfordshire County Council's Family Safeguarding Team West as a Senior Practitioner and make a real difference to children and families. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to work within an innovative Family Safeguarding Model that focuses on collaboration and positive outcomes.

What you'll do:

Manage complex cases and support families through motivational interviewing and strength-based practice.Work closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and reduce risk.Provide high-quality assessments, court work, and care planning.

About you:

Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years post-qualified experience in frontline children's services.Strong assessment and court skills with knowledge of legislation and safeguarding procedures.Confident working collaboratively and able to manage a caseload under 20.Must be a driver with access to a car.

Role details:

Location: Apsley 2, Brindley Way, Hemel Hempstead (free parking).Contract: Temporary (3 months), in scope of IR35.Pay: £42.50 per hour | Start: 06 Oct 2025.Hours: Full-time, 37 hrs/week, Mon-Fri.DBS: Enhanced required.iPad provided, flexible working from touchdown locations across the county.
