We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pre Birth Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Durham. This role is pivotal in providing support and guidance to expectant parents, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and interventions during this critical time. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child welfare policies and a commitment to improving family outcomes.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments for expectant parents to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Providing emotional support and counseling to parents, addressing concerns related to pregnancy and parenting. Facilitating access to community resources, including healthcare, housing, and financial assistance. Collaborating with healthcare providers, child welfare agencies, and community organizations to ensure a holistic approach to care.Essential qualifications and skills for this role include:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) from an accredited institution. Current registration with the relevant social work regulatory body. Experience in child welfare, family services, or a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.Additional requirements for this position include a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within the Durham area.
