Caritas Recruitment is supporting Reading Borough Council in recruiting an experienced LADO to join their safeguarding service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled safeguarding professional to take on a key role overseeing and managing allegations against professionals and volunteers who work with children. The position offers predominantly remote working, with attendance required for a two-day induction and training period during the first week.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing allegations against adults working with childrenProviding safeguarding advice and guidance to partner agenciesChairing and facilitating LADO meetingsEnsuring compliance with statutory safeguarding proceduresWorking collaboratively with education, health, police and social care partners

Requirements:

Significant safeguarding experience within children's servicesStrong knowledge of Working Together to Safeguard Children guidanceExperience in managing allegations processes and multi-agency workingExcellent communication, decision-making and chairing skills
