We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection/Children in Need (CP/CIN) Team in Stowmarket, Suffolk. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide leadership and guidance to a team of social workers while managing a complex caseload, conducting assessments, and developing intervention plans tailored to the unique needs of each family.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, ensuring high standards of practice. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Significant experience in child protection and working with children in need. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding policies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and stakeholders. Proven leadership skills and experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff.
