West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Service Manager to lead our SEND Assessment Team. Key responsibilities include:
Managing the SEND assessment process, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Leading a team of professionals to deliver high-quality assessments and support plans. Collaborating with educational institutions, health services, and families to create integrated support systems. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEND services and implementing improvements. Providing training and guidance to staff on best practices in SEND assessment and support.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A relevant degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field. Significant experience in children’s services, particularly with SEND. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
