Join our dedicated Children’s Social Work - Children in Care (CIC) Team in Essex as a Qualified Social Worker. We are seeking passionate and committed professionals to provide high-quality support and protection to vulnerable children and young people. In this rewarding role, you will engage with children and families, ensuring their needs are met while promoting their welfare and development.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to decision-making processes. Providing direct support and guidance to children in care, advocating for their rights and interests.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a social work context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare.

Caritas Recruitment is working in partnership with Cafcass to recruit 2 Agency Family Court Advisers (FCA) on a temporary basis, supporting services across Essex and Norfolk/Suffolk.

As an Agency FCA, you will work with children and families involved in private law proceedings, providing high‑quality analysis and recommendations to the Family Court. You will:
Undertake safeguarding work and child-focused assessmentsEngage directly with children, ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings inform all recommendationsProduce clear, analytical court reportsWork collaboratively with parents, local authorities and partner agenciesContribute professional expertise to court processesEssential CriteriaQualified Social WorkerRegistered with Social Work England (SWE)Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months via the submitting agencyRight to Work in the UK (no sponsorship available)Desirable CriteriaMinimum 3 years post‑qualifying experience
