Are you a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker looking for a rewarding opportunity in Barking & Dagenham? Join our Family Safeguarding Team and make a significant impact on the lives of families in need. We are offering a competitive rate of £39.04 per hour on an umbrella employment basis, providing you with the chance to excel in a supportive and dynamic environment.

As a Senior Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks. Developing and implementing child protection plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Leading and supervising social work staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their practice. Maintaining accurate case records and preparing reports for court proceedings. Engaging with external agencies to ensure a multi-agency approach to safeguarding.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding within a statutory framework. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and colleagues. Proven leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior social workers.
