We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dynamic team on the beautiful Isle of Wight. This pivotal role involves working with individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring their rights and needs are prioritized. As an AMHP, you will conduct assessments, provide support, and facilitate access to appropriate services, playing a crucial role in the mental health care pathway.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting mental health assessments and determining the need for compulsory treatment under the Mental Health Act. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, families, and community resources to develop and implement care plans. Providing crisis intervention and support to individuals in distress, ensuring their safety and well-being. Maintaining accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions. Participating in training and supervision to ensure best practices are followed in mental health care.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England. Approved Mental Health Professional status, or commitment to obtain within a specified timeframe. Strong understanding of mental health legislation and best practices in social care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
