We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dynamic team in Herefordshire, focusing on adult social work. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding and promoting the well-being of individuals with mental health needs. Your expertise will ensure that vulnerable adults receive the support they require, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives within their communities.
As an AMHP, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting mental health assessments and determining the need for detention under the Mental Health Act. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs. Providing guidance and support to social workers and other professionals in mental health matters. Engaging with service users and their families to ensure they are informed and supported throughout the process. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a valid Social Work England registration. AMHP qualification and relevant post-qualification experience in mental health. Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, particularly the Mental Health Act. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to service users.
