Nottingham City is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Duty & Assessment Social Worker to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding vulnerable children and families, conducting assessments, and ensuring that appropriate services are provided to those in need. This position requires a proactive and empathetic approach to social work, with a commitment to improving the lives of individuals within our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting initial assessments and reviews to identify the needs and risks of children and families. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to develop and implement effective care plans. Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Current registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in child protection and assessment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and professionals.
