Caritas Recruitment is working with Oldham Council to recruit a permanent Duty & Advice Social Worker to join their Children's Services team based in the heart of Oldham.
About the Role
This is a key frontline position within a co-located multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH), where you will work alongside partners including Police, Health, Community Safety, Adult Social Care, IDVA and the Prevention Hub.
As a Duty & Advice Social Worker, you will:
Respond to contacts received by MASH in a timely and effective wayGather and analyse information from families, professionals and members of the publicMake informed threshold decisions to ensure children are protected and receive the right supportWork within statutory frameworks and Oldham's practice standardsCollaborate closely with partner agencies to achieve strong, evidence-based outcomes
This is a fast-paced role requiring confidence, sound judgement, and strong communication skills.
About YouSocial Work qualification and SWE registrationExperience within children's services, particularly referral, assessment, or safeguardingStrong understanding of statutory social work functions and thresholdsConfident decision-maker with the ability to manage risk effectivelyExcellent communication and multi-agency working skillsWorking for Oldham
