Are you a passionate and experienced social work professional looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families? Oldham Council is seeking a dedicated Children's Team Manager for our Safeguarding Team. This pivotal role will involve leading a dynamic team to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. You will be responsible for overseeing case management, providing guidance and support to social workers, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and supervising a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality practice and adherence to safeguarding standards. Conducting regular performance reviews and providing professional development opportunities to team members. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to coordinate effective safeguarding interventions. Reviewing and approving assessments, care plans, and reports related to child protection cases. Leading on complex case discussions and ensuring timely decision-making in safeguarding matters.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and child protection. Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team.
