Join our dedicated team at Hackney as a Qualified Social Worker in the Looked After Children (LAC) Team. We are committed to providing the highest standard of care and support to children in our community. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring the welfare and well-being of children in care, working collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Managing a caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met through effective assessment and intervention. Developing and implementing care plans, working closely with children, families, and multi-agency partners. Conducting regular reviews and monitoring progress, advocating for the rights and best interests of children. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements and local policies. Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families, facilitating training and resources as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly in the context of looked after children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Proficiency in assessment and report writing, with a keen attention to detail.
