Join our dedicated Children's Social Work - Fostering Team in Barnsley and play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and families. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker who is committed to improving the lives of children in care. In this role, you will provide high-quality social work services, ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people in our fostering system.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting initial assessments and ongoing reviews of foster placements. Working collaboratively with foster carers, children, and multi-agency partners. Developing and implementing care plans that prioritize the well-being of children. Providing support and guidance to foster families to enhance their skills and knowledge. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies. Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your practice.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A valid Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly within fostering or adoption. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and families. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
