Are you a dedicated and passionate social worker looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families? The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Child Protection Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant community, supporting children and their families through challenging times while promoting their welfare and safeguarding.

As a Qualified Social Worker in our Child Protection Team, you will be responsible for a range of key duties, including:

Conducting assessments and developing care plans to meet the needs of children and families. Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure comprehensive support and intervention. Managing a caseload of children in need and those at risk of harm, ensuring timely and effective support. Providing expert advice and guidance to families, working towards positive outcomes. Documenting casework and maintaining accurate records in compliance with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA, MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Proficiency in case management and report writing.
