The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) and Children in Need (CIN) Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of vulnerable children and young people within our community. As a Children’s Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and other professionals to deliver high-quality support and intervention services.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families. Developing and implementing care plans that promote the best outcomes for children. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with local authority policies. Building strong relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders to support effective service delivery. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies. Providing advice and support to foster carers and adoptive families.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Demonstrable experience in working with children and families, particularly in LAC and CIN settings. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with families.
