Join our dedicated Fostering/Kinship Team in Surrey as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. We are seeking passionate and qualified individuals who are committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children in foster and kinship care. In this role, you will work collaboratively with families, social work colleagues, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and support plans. Developing and implementing care plans that prioritize the safety and well-being of children. Providing ongoing support and guidance to foster and kinship carers. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local authority policies. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection conferences. Advocating for the rights and wishes of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly in fostering or kinship care. Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
