Join our dedicated Fostering Team in Shropshire as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and supporting foster placements, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care. Your role will involve working collaboratively with foster carers, children, and other professionals to provide high-quality support and guidance.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers and ongoing evaluations of existing placements. Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the individual needs of children. Providing training and support to foster families to enhance their caregiving skills. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children and families.To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience working within the fostering sector or with children in care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
