Wrexham Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the rights and needs of children in care are at the forefront of all decision-making processes. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of care plans and safeguarding practices, ensuring that every child receives the support they deserve.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Facilitating meetings and engaging with children, families, and professionals to gather feedback and insights. Monitoring the implementation of care plans and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Providing advocacy for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard in all matters affecting their lives. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to promote best practice and improve outcomes for children in care.To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Experience in working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after children context. Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding policies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
