As the Children’s GM, your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing a team of social workers and support staff, providing supervision, guidance, and professional development. Overseeing the assessment and intervention processes for adolescents at risk, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Developing and implementing strategic plans to improve safeguarding services and outcomes for young people. Building strong partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and support for families. Monitoring and evaluating team performance, implementing necessary changes to improve service effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Significant experience in children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding and working with adolescents. Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of developing and supporting teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people and their families. A sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child safeguarding.
