Join our dynamic Permanence Team in Liverpool as a Children’s Assistant Social Worker (ASW) and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with experienced social workers to provide support and guidance to children in need of permanence, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting their development and stability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the assessment of children and families to identify needs and risks. Supporting the planning and implementation of care plans for children in care. Engaging with children and families to build trusting relationships and facilitate open communication. Documenting case notes and maintaining accurate records in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in team meetings and contributing to case discussions and decision-making.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A relevant degree or qualification in social work or a related field. Experience working with children and families, preferably within a social work setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans aimed at achieving permanence for children. Building strong relationships with children, families, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes. Managing a caseload of children in need, ensuring timely reviews and interventions. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategic planning initiatives.To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
