Join our dedicated team as a CAFCASS/Family Court Adviser in Plymouth, Exeter, and Truro, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare of children and families involved in family court proceedings. As a Family Court Adviser, you will be responsible for providing impartial advice to the court, conducting thorough assessments, and supporting families through challenging transitions. Your expertise will help shape the best outcomes for children, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in legal matters.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to inform court decisions. Preparing detailed reports for court that reflect the needs and wishes of children. Engaging with families, legal representatives, and other professionals to facilitate effective communication. Providing ongoing support and guidance to families throughout the court process. Attending court hearings and presenting findings to the judge in a clear and concise manner.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant degree in social work, along with a valid Social Work England registration. Experience in child protection, family law, or a related field. Strong analytical and assessment skills with the ability to make sound judgments. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information effectively. Empathy and resilience, with a commitment to advocating for the best interests of children.
