Join the Barnet Kinship Care Team as a Senior Social Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. In this pivotal role, you will lead initiatives to support kinship care arrangements, ensuring the safety and well-being of children placed with relatives or family friends. You will work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support and guidance, fostering a nurturing environment for children in need.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and developing care plans for children in kinship placements. Providing expert guidance and support to kinship carers, ensuring they have the resources and training needed. Managing a caseload effectively, prioritizing tasks and maintaining accurate records. Leading and supervising a team of social workers, providing mentorship and support. Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to ensure holistic support for children and families.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a valid Social Work England registration. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in child protection or family support settings, with a focus on kinship care preferred. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with families and colleagues.
