North Tyneside Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assessment Social Worker to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting assessments of children and families in need of support, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work collaboratively with other professionals to develop and implement care plans, providing guidance and support to families while advocating for the best interests of children. Your expertise will be critical in identifying risk factors and facilitating access to necessary resources and services.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate the needs of children and families. Developing and implementing tailored care plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Engaging with families to provide support, guidance, and intervention strategies. Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., BA Social Work, MA Social Work, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, critical thinking, and a solid understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices. Experience in assessment and direct work with children and families is highly desirable.
