An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Adult Social Worker to join a busy Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. You will play a key role in responding to safeguarding concerns, assessing risk and coordinating timely, proportionate interventions for adults who may be experiencing abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across health, social care, the police, housing and other partner agencies, you will gather and analyse information, complete initial enquiries and make informed decisions about safeguarding pathways. You will ensure that adults are listened to, their wishes and desired outcomes are central to decision-making, and that practice promotes independence, dignity, choice and control.
Your responsibilities will include screening and prioritising referrals, undertaking assessments, contributing to strategy discussions and coordinating safeguarding enquiries where required. You will manage a caseload effectively, maintain accurate and timely records, prepare clear reports and share information in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and professional standards. You will also identify risks, consider proportionality and escalate concerns appropriately.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England. You will have substantial experience of adult social care, safeguarding practice and working within a multi-agency environment. Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and relevant safeguarding procedures is essential.
You will be a confident communicator with strong analytical, organisational and decision-making skills. The role requires resilience, professional curiosity and the ability to work calmly under pressure while managing competing priorities. You must be able to build effective relationships with adults, families, carers and professionals, including in complex or sensitive circumstances.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed social work professional to contribute to high-quality safeguarding practice and help improve outcomes for adults at risk. A commitment to equality, inclusion, reflective practice and continuous professional development is essential.
