Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Social Worker to join Essex County Council on a long-term contract, supporting the delivery of person-centred reviews across Adult Social Care services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker with strong adult services experience who is confident in carrying out strengths-based assessments and reviews, ensuring care and support plans remain outcome-focused, evidence-based and provide value for money.
Key ResponsibilitiesComplete person-centred reviews of care and support plans across Essex.Manage a target of approximately 3 reviews per week.Apply a strengths-based approach to assessments and reviews.Work with adults with a range of needs including:Learning DisabilitiesAutismPhysical DisabilitiesSensory ImpairmentsOlder AdultsIdentify risks and make informed recommendations regarding support provision.Ensure care packages remain appropriate, proportionate and financially sustainable.RequirementsQualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care.Experience working within Learning Disabilities services.Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding and adult social care practice.Understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.Excellent assessment, review and decision-making skills.Strong IT skills.Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role).Working ArrangementsHybrid working model.Office base at County Hall, Chelmsford.Countywide travel required to undertake face-to-face reviews and assessments.Candidates based in Essex or within reasonable travelling distance are highly desirable.What's on Offer?Long-term contractCompetitive rates of £288 Umbrella per day.Flexible hybrid working.Opportunity to work within one of the UK's largest and most progressive local authorities.Supportive multi-disciplinary environment focused on strength-based practice and positive outcomes.To find out more or apply, please contact:
