Job description

Role: Social Worker (Fostering Team)

Location: North East

Start Date: 09/03/2020

Responsibilities:

  • managing and supervising foster care placements in accordance with the UK national standards for Foster Care, Code of Practice and Fostering Services Regulations.
  • manage and support allocated caseload
  • maintain information on all aspects of the work record
  • conduct user feedback to ascertain the views of carers about the service to inform service delivery
  • respond to placement requests
  • ensure quality care and support during first placements
  • possibly assist in decision-making concerning the placements
  • devise and facilitate training programmes with other team members

Other Requirements:

  • keep abreast of changes in legislation and national/local initiatives
  • promote equality of cultural, social and ethnic opportunities at all times
  • undertake any other professional duties as necessary

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they are flexible, adaptable and can act with confidentiality in order to establish trusting relationships with carers at assessment stage.
