Following the introduction of our new organisational arrangements we have invested in additional management capacity to allow us to grow our team and reduce case loads. These vacancies have been created to ensure each of our Team Managers and Service Managers has a realistic workload (with fewer direct reports) and all of our social work staff have the support they need to do a great job.

You will provide direct management of a team of eight front line Social Workers with a range of practice knowledge from ASYE students to more experienced staff. Each team includes a senior Social Worker who carries a 50% case load and is tasked with supporting you in managing the team.
Key to this role will be your ability to manage safeguarding risk and quality assurance effectively, through the application of the Signs of Safety social work model (in which you will receive full training) which is being implemented across Children’s Services in Manchester.
Critical to your success in this role will be your commitment to developing others to reach their full potential. You will be supported to do this through a facilitated programme designed to help you define the most appropriate culture and working methods for your team.
Salary – up to £45,217 plus comprehensive benefits package
This total is made up of a salary of up to £40,217 plus an ongoing market supplement of £5,000, which has recently been approved.

Within the wider context and objectives of the Directorate of Children & Families, you will develop effective strategies and operational delivery models to deliver improved outcomes for children within your service area. You will be responsible for up to five teams based in a single locality office and specialising in one of Duty and Assessment, Child in Need and Child Protection, Looked After Children or Children With Disabilities.
Beyond this day-to-day management responsibility you will be tasked with the development of working partnerships across services and key stakeholders to support the development and delivery of great social work practice.

Salary– up to £51,516 plus comprehensive benefits package
